As I Dance

Do you see as I dance,
your arm about my waist?
You allow me

full range and extension.
My body bends

and sways yet,
Your precious gift

of strength
My one and only support.

Your restrained gentleness
As if,

I was a delicate piece of china
You are careful not to drop.

Do you not know
to be in your hand
That my tumbling down
Will be like floating?

And if my wings fail
I will use your gifts
as my reminders
And your words
to bind my wounds.

The #poem is so sweet! Ellis Havelock said, ‘Dancing is the most beautiful of the arts… it is life itself’
